Yesterday Josh and I went on a long overdue date night. It was the first date we have been on since Thomas has been born.
We left our boys with our neighbors (can I just say that we are so grateful to have neighbors who will double the amount of children they have to take care of for an evening so that we can have some time together) and headed out for dinner on a cold and rainy night.
We went to a local restaurant: Hammerheads which was absolutely incredible! We split an Elk burger, BBQ lamb ribs, macaroni and cheese and a brownie with bacon on it. It was so delicious and if you live in Louisville and have not tried it yet... you should. Their menu was awesome and we had such difficult time deciding what to order.
After dinner, our plan was to go see a movie, but the movie we wanted to see was sold out. So, we decided to go bowling instead. Josh destroyed me but that was to be expected. ;-)
We also spent some time playing arcade games. Actually I should rephrase that to say we played one arcade game (the one where you throw the balls and knock down the clowns). Our competitive selves had to keep going until we broke our record goal of 500 points. Yes we are that couple and we had a blast. In the process we racked up a good number of tickets and had fun picking out some toys that we thought Peter would enjoy. Our loot included 3 toy swords (one for mom, dad and Peter), some plastic hopping frogs, a pirate patch, flying disc, and some candy.
We had such a great time hanging out with each other and reminding ourselves why we are best friends.
And yes, in the morning we had a spectacular family sword fight. :)
