Favorite Baby Items

I have had a lot of requests for lists of favorite baby items. I listed our favorite items right now. And then a list of items we LOVED for Peter when he was a newborn. So here goes:

1. Baby Sunglasses

These glasses are awesome because they velcro around his head and it makes it very hard to get off!

2. Old Navy Shoes

They are reasonably priced and cute too! (<-- we are so not up for spending $30+ dollars on a pair of baby shoes that he will grow out of in a couple months. I don't even regularly spend $30+ dollars on shoes for myself, let alone teeny tiny baby shoes!)

3. Walker

Peter is super into this right now and it is totally helping him learn how to walk!

4. Besides the Walker (above) and a soccer ball... our favorite baby toys are: empty wipes containers, empty waterbottles, empty 2L bottles and of course he gravitates towards all forbidden items also (i.e. plastic bags and electrical cords. But of course we do not allow him to play with these...much to his dismay) Just keeping it real folks... And before you think we are depriving this baby of child-friendly toys, please know that we actually have A LOT of baby toys, but none seem to hold his interest quite as much as those previously mentioned...

5. Food Pouches

They may be a little more expensive than a jar... but to us they are worth every penny. They are so easy when you are on the go!

Newborn Items:

1. Pacifier.

Before Peter was born, I swore that I would not give him a pacifier because of all the things I heard about confusion with breastfeeding and blah blah blah.... That lasted about an hour. We do like the AVENT pacis, but make sure for a newborn you buy the newborn size.

2. Nightgowns

Yes... I received many of these and thought it was crazy that people were buying gowns, for my baby boy. BUT they were my best friend during middle of the night diaper changes and i think they are pretty cute too :) .

3. vibrating bouncy seat

Peter was not a big swing guy, but those bouncy seats that vibrate are AMAZING! Peter would be out cold within 5 minutes. every. time. Our seat also gave him an incline to sleep on and sometimes that helped when he was restless or had a little bit of reflux.

4. A good stroller

Many people told me that all I needed was a nice umbrella stroller, but we LOVE our Chicco stroller. It is not super lightweight, but I can pick it up with one hand and unfold/fold it with one hand... so thats a winner right there. We have spent many hours in ours and we love it.

5. A good breast-pump

If you are going to be breast-feeding... you need to invest in this. You will be SO glad that you did! I love my Medela Pump in Style and the nice looking it bag it is in.

What are your favorite baby items?

Love,
Carly
