It may seem obvious to some of you and not so obvious to others. But I think that in our world this is something that often we lose sight of.
Why is Heaven so great?
Jesus.
End of Story.
As I sat in church yesterday and heard our pastor remind us that Heaven is great because we will be in the presence of God, I felt my stomach drop as I realized the weight of what this means. I knew what he was saying was true. I agreed with it. It spurred me to look at my life and ponder what my first answer would have been to this question.
Since becoming a Christian, I have had many talks with fellow believers and non believers about heaven. And I would like to take a moment to recall many of the answers I have heard over the years about why people want to go to Heaven:
Let me just say, these are not bad things (And I'm not saying it's bad to want these things either) BUT this is not why we should want to go to heaven. We should want to go to heaven to experience the Glory of our Creator, our Savior, our King. Jesus is why we should want to go to heaven. Nothing trumps that. There is no other reason to want to go. The things listed above, are not what heaven is about.

Take that as food for thought. Do you want what Jesus has to offer, or do you want Jesus?
I pray that you want Jesus. But if you realize that the former is true for you, I pray that the Lord would use that realization to cause you to seek Jesus, know Him, love Him, and want Him.

- There is no sickness
- I want to see lost loved ones
- I want to be happy
- There is no sin
- Heaven is a good place
- Heaven is beautiful
- I want to live forever
