Thanks & Praise: Early Mornings

It is Day 4 and today I am thankful for early mornings.

I can honestly say that I NEVER saw this one coming. I am not a morning person. At. All. However, when I get  up to go to work in the mornings, I have to leave my house by 6:50 a.m. And here in Louisville, at 6:50 a.m. it is still dark. However, this means that every morning I am blessed to be able to see the sunrise on my way to work. And let me tell you, our God paints some beautiful pictures early in the morning.

I have often joked with friends and such that watching a sunset on the beach sounds way more appealing than a sunrise. And while I am quite far from the beach here in Louisville, the concept would generally apply.

But I have found that there is something about the peaceful serenity of the sunrise in the morning. There is something that is just incredibly calming about it. The world is not a hustle and bustle of activity. Everyone is just waking; getting ready to start a new day. For me, it is a very sweet and quiet time to just think, pray and revel in God's glorious creation as he paints the sky each morning. No matter how tired I am, it is a sweet time that I try to take advantage of because it is often the only 20 minutes of peace, quiet and time to myself that I have each day.

Now, I am not writing this to tell all of you to go wake up early and watch the sunrise (but if you are encouraged to do so, then by all means please do... you won't be disappointed). But I do want to encourage you to find a time in your day where you can rest in and marvel at our Creator. He is the Creator of the universe and His creativity within His creation is incredible! From the unique finger prints of every human being to the sunrise to the vast variety of animals He created, everything has been created so that He might be glorified! God reveals himself to us in His creation and I encourage you to bask in this and open your hearts to His revelation each day! The world around us displays the magnificence of our Creator. Go out and look at it! He wants us to enjoy it and praise Him for it!

Love,
Carly
